The Midlife Androgen Project

Testosterone is the hormone midlife medicine forgot to teach.

Hope is building plain, evidence based education on testosterone and androgen care for women in midlife. For the women living it, the clinicians treating it, and the workplaces losing them.

01 The gap

Most women in midlife never hear the word testosterone from their doctor.

Oestrogen and progesterone dominate menopause care. Testosterone sits in the gap between them. Many clinicians were never taught when it helps, when it does not, or how to prescribe it safely for women.

So women go without, or they go online. Neither is good care.

03 What guides the work

  • The Global Consensus Position Statement on the Use of Testosterone Therapy for Women, endorsed by the International Menopause Society and partner societies.
  • Education before intervention. Every module starts with what the evidence supports, and says plainly where it stops.
  • Trauma informed delivery, using the HOPE Method from the School of Sexual Wellness.

Where the project stands. The clinician certification is in development. It is not yet accredited for continuing professional development, and it will not be described as accredited until it is. A medical advisory board is being formed to review every clinical module before release.
